This is a painting that I did whilst Artist in Residence at North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club during January to March 2016. “Path at Dusk” is of one of the sandy paths that takes you down to the sparkling waters of North Cottesloe Beach.

I love the colours of the ocean and the sky when the sun is setting. The beautiful golds and pinks and the reflection the sky makes on the ocean. Nature and the landscape is such an amazing force that I can only hope to create the essence of a place. For me, in my painting I try to capture light and luminescence using thin layers of paint and glazes. I love the shadows and patches of dark and light that the sun creates as it is going down beyond the horizon.
