Recently I went on a painting trip to Donnelly River near the town of Bridgetown in WA’s Southwest. This area is known for it’s magnificent Karri trees and historic milling town. The karri tree, grows in the forests of South-West Western Australia, is the third tallest tree in Australia and one of the tallest species in the world, reaching heights of ninety metres.
Set up among the stunning bush I set up my easel to paint en plein air. Grass trees, karri, marri and jarrah trees are the prominent species in the area.
