North Cottesloe Artist in Residence 2016

I started my artist in residence at North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club (NCSLSC) in December and painted in and around the club for three months. The light at different times of the day intrigued me so I tried to capture this in my paintings. I especially liked dusk, the beautiful pinks and golds and the shadows that were created by the sinking sun.

Recently I went on a painting trip to Donnelly River near the town of Bridgetown in WA’s Southwest. This area is known for it’s magnificent Karri trees and historic milling town.The karri tree, grows in the forests of South-West Western Australia, is the third tallest tree in Australia and one of the tallest species in the world, reaching heights of ninety metres.
